Manatt Health Partner Cindy Mann was quoted in CNN Health on how states are using Medicaid dollars to fund housing services and provide aid to the nation’s growing homeless population.
While some officials argue that health care institutions should focus on improving basic care instead of investing in housing and social services, Mann commented, “The singular focus on a financial return on investment is not as clear as it was previously. States are just seeing how little sense it makes to treat people and then release them back to the streets without the support they need.”
