L.A. County remains in Tier 3 of the State’s Blueprint.
The state has reached an agreement with Alameda and Contra Costa counties to continue operating the Oakland Coliseum Mass Vaccination Site for the next four weeks. The site is expected to deliver 6,000 vaccines per day.
On Friday, April 16, 2021, Governor Newsom signed into law Senate Bill 93, requiring employers in several hospitality sectors to rehire workers laid off during the pandemic before filling positions with new workers.

On April 6, 2021, Governor Newsom announced that the state will eliminate the Blueprint tiers and reopen its economy on June 15.
CMS has approved DHCS’s application requesting the authority to reimburse for vaccine administration for all covered Medi-Cal populations exclusively through the fee-for-service delivery system and carved out from all managed care contracts, effective November 2, 2020.

Last Tuesday, March 30, 2021, the County’s adjusted case rate reached 3.1 new cases per 100,000 residents (down from 3.7/100,000), and the seven-day test positivity rate was 1.5% (down from 1.8%).
CMS has approved California’s requests for a waiver of public notice requirements applicable to the SPA submission process and a waiver to modify the tribal consultation timeline applicable to the SPA submission process.
As of April 15, all Californians 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
