Manatt Health Senior Managing Director Patricia Boozang was quoted in Morning Consult on the public option debate on Capitol Hill as some states move ahead with plans. The publication reported that in late June, lawmakers in Oregon asked the state health authority to study how a public option would work, with a report expected by early 2022. “Legislation reflects all different stages of public option design, and some are still in the study phase, but I think will be fast-moving, like Oregon,” Boozang said. Other states, including Wisconsin, Nevada, Minnesota and New Mexico have also expressed interest in public option programs, Morning Consult noted.
