Leader of the cannabis and CBD practice Anita Famili spoke with Law360 about the cannabis industry’s regulatory field in 2019, and what regulatory changes she hopes to see in 2020. In particular, Famili noted that resurrecting proposed bill A.B. 228, which died on committee in 2019, would be of great benefit to the hemp and CBD industries. She also discussed the current regulatory status of the cannabis industry in California, where she noted that many of the new laws and guidances issued by the State create new obstacles for the industry. “We want this industry to succeed, we need it to succeed, but we continue to keep putting these hurdles in place,” Famili said.
