In its Jan. 24, 2018, edition, the Daily Journal recognized privacy and data security chair Donna Wilson as one of California’s top cyber/artificial intelligence lawyers for 2018. Wilson is one of only 20 lawyers to be named to the list.
In its profile of Wilson, the Daily Journal describes her practice as helping high-profile clients deal with bet-the-company work on behalf of companies facing litigation and government enforcement actions. Wilson’s work ranges from counseling clients on preventive measures to navigating them through “worst case scenarios,” in which a cyber incident has already occurred and resulted in litigation or regulatory attention.
"Regardless of the point at which we are brought in, my team and I pride ourselves on being proactive, creative and pragmatic. The practice and the needs of our clients demand it,” said Wilson, who serves as co-lead counsel in a series of class action and individual litigations nationwide arising from the alleged disclosure of HIV-related information by a health insurance company. She’s also leading a litigation team, alongside partner Michelle Cooke, on behalf of a healthcare company in order to halt a large-scale phishing and spoofing scheme.
