Top 30 in American Lawyer’s 2016 Diversity Scorecard

Diversity Scorecard: Minorities Make Small Gains in Big Law
– The American Lawyer

The American Lawyer again ranked Manatt among the top law firms in its latest Diversity Scorecard, an annual ranking based on the number of minority lawyers at AmLaw 200 and NLJ 250 firms. Manatt ranks No. 101 on The American Lawyer’s list of the 200 highest-grossing law firms in the nation, but has earned the No. 30 spot in its diversity rankings. More than 20 percent of attorneys at Manatt in 2015 were diverse, compared to the national average of 15.02 percent.

The 2016 scorecard tallies the number of African-American, Asian or Asian-American, Latino or Hispanic and multiracial/other attorneys in various law firm jobs. Firm rankings are based on the percentage of minority lawyers in the firm's U.S. offices and the percentage of U.S.-based minority partners.

Manatt's Diversity Program was formalized in 2003 and first appeared on The American Lawyer's Diversity Scorecard in 2004. Diversity is a fundamental component of Manatt’s institutional identity, with a significant amount of human and financial resources to the firm’s diversity program.
