Manatt Health Partner Paul Carr-Rollitt authored an article for Daily Journal about the growing popularity of provider-sponsored Medicare Advantage plans, discussing their advantages and the steps necessary to developing effective plans as well as the financial, operational and regulatory challenges involved.
In the article, Carr-Rollitt explained how many provider organizations are establishing provider-sponsored Medicare Advantage plans to address growing costs, improve health equity and ensure access to high-quality, integrated care. He also noted that organizations considering establishing these plans should view it as part of their overall long-term strategy, rather than as a revenue-generating alternative. “There are many good reasons for provider organizations to consider establishing a Medicare Advantage plan, but it is imperative to undertake a thorough assessment of financial, governance, operational and compliance readiness before proceeding,” he concluded.
