Status of California Renewable Policy 2011 February 21, 2011 As the new year unfolds, California still has many unanswered questions as to how it plans to reach the energy policy goal of procuring 33% of the state’s electricity through renewable resources by 2020. The various state agencies still have a lot of issues to address before one can consider this a stable policy environment, but there is a lot of momentum and work happening to resolve these questions and advance the renewable energy movement in California. Despite many pieces taking shape in 2011, lawmakers and regulators need to work together to reach state goals quickly in order to facilitate promoting a robust renewable energy market.
