With the indictments of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, the 2015 legislative session closes as one of the most historically unusual legislative sessions for the state of New York. While the replacement of the two former heavyweight legislators brought even more chaos to the already tumultuous final weeks of the legislative session, an impressive grand total of 718 pieces of legislation managed to pass in both houses in 2015.
