The Philadelphia Inquirer quoted Manatt's Jocelyn Guyer, a director with Manatt Health, on the federal health exchange glitch that could be affecting states' sites as well.
As reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer, a glitch in the federal health exchange website that incorrectly responded "not eligible" to queries about financial help from households just above the poverty line has been fixed. For 35 days, Healthcare.gov used the wrong year's federal poverty-level guidelines for informal assessments of eligibility. The most potentially problematic responses would have been to queries from people who live in the two dozen states that have not expanded Medicaid.
Still, "there may well be more states out there with this issue," said Guyer, who worked with states to set up their own sites.
"I've spoken recently with some of the people charged with building the systems for the states, and they were just learning about the use of two different federal poverty lines," said Guyer. "This is just the kind of important detail that was at risk of falling through the cracks."
