Huffington Post Speaks to Joel Ario on Effects of
Healthcare.gov Glitches
"Obamacare Workers Are Desperately Trying to Sign People
Up"
The Huffington Post
October 10, 2013 - The Huffington Post interviewed
Manatt's Joel Ario, a managing director with Manatt Health
Solutions, on the potential effects of a faulty federal exchange
website.
The Huffington Post reports that local enrollment
workers are figuring out ways to help Americans sign up for
insurance as the federal exchange website, Healthcare.gov, remains
glitchy. Assistants are offering sign-ups by telephone, setting up
appointments to try the site again and are moving forward with
educational events. Industry insiders told the publication that if
the site isn't doing better by mid-November, then consumers could
start getting disillusioned.
"The people who most need the coverage will be patient with
whatever glitches they have to work through. They'll get signed
up," said Ario. "But people who have less immediate need for the
coverage probably have less of a patience quota here."
