September 29, 2013 - Manatt's Jocelyn Guyer, a director with Manatt Health Solutions, spoke to Bloomberg about how the launch of health insurance exchange on October 1 is unlikely to settle the health reform debate.
Bloomberg reports that while exchanges are expected to open on time, the debut is unlikely to settle the three and a half year debate over the Affordable Care Act. A long enrollment season, complicated by a potential U.S. government shutdown and a list of technical glitches, means that it may not be until April that we know how many uninsured Americans sign up under law.
"The lights will go on October 1, but they may flicker," said Guyer. "I worry the most about people making premature judgments on the first couple of weeks."
