Bloomberg Quotes Joel Ario on Importance of State Cooperation in Health Exchanges
"Haley Leaves Health Law to U.S. as Residents Remain Uninsured"
Bloomberg News
May 12, 2013 - Bloomberg News quoted Manatt's Joel Ario, a managing director with Manatt Health Solutions, on the impact that states' assistance can have on the success of federal health insurance exchanges.
As reported by Bloomberg News, the number of people who are to be covered under health reform law, which the Obama administration says can reach as many as 27 million, may depend on states' willingness to help the uninsured enroll in exchanges. In states that are refusing to assist the federal government, such as South Carolina and Missouri, thousands of uninsured residents may not be able to enroll, said industry insiders.
"The states that don't cooperate here are making it harder for their consumers to reach what they're entitled to under the law," said Ario.
