Manatt Achieves Gold Certification from Women in Law Empowerment Forum

The Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) has recognized Manatt, Phelps & Phillips’ commitment to the advancement of women lawyers by awarding the firm WILEF’s Gold Standard Certification for 2012. Manatt is one of only 50 firms nationwide to receive the designation, which distinguishes the firms that have integrated women lawyers into the highest leadership positions.

Law firms with 100 or more practicing lawyers in the United States were invited to submit to WILEF’s 2012 Gold Standard Certification program. Certification was based on criteria that focused on the extent to which the firm has successfully made women equity partners, integrated women partners into its governance structure, and recognized the contributions of women through compensation.

“Diversity is one of Manatt’s core values and the firm has been ahead of the curve in terms of gender equity since its beginnings,” said William T. Quicksilver, the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner. “Manatt is stronger for our long history of women leaders and is committed to ensuring that women lawyers are supported and recognized for their significant contributions to the firm.”

WILEF presents women with educational programs and networking forums to assist them in obtaining leadership roles within the AmLaw 100, Second Hundred and Fortune 1000 legal departments.
