Brief Description
Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a highly qualified associate with four or more years of substantive corporate finance transactions experience to join our financial services practice.
Ideal candidates will have in-depth financial services experience, focusing on corporate transactional and regulatory work involving both new and established companies in the token, digital & technology, blockchain and cryptocurrency space. The position will concentrate on matters involving venture financings, blockchain and digital assets, payments, lending, fund formation, alternative lending, regulatory enforcement work, and counseling clients on process and compliance matters. This is an exciting opportunity to represent emerging and growth-stage companies at the forefront of the financial services industry’s digital transformation, as well as traditional financial and technology companies seeking to enter the fintech space to guide them through this dynamic landscape.
Manatt’s world-class fintech practice works with more than150 established platforms and investors to raise capital to support consumer and small-business lending, alternative credit and point-of-sale products, and real estate development and smaller projects. The team also works with token and cryptocurrency issuers and traders in advising on best practices to mitigate legal and regulatory risk. Manatt’s fintech practice involves several legal areas, including securities and state blue sky laws, venture capital, bank regulatory, investment advisory, broker-dealer, lender licensing, fund formation, intellectual property, digital media, privacy and data security, and more.
Requirements
- Four or more years of solid corporate finance transactions experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills
- Effective and efficient problem solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
- Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction you plan to practice

Salary
The base annual pay range for this role is between $295,000-$400,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. Additional medical, financial and/or other benefits will be offered dependent on the position.
