John also represents clients in unfair competition, RICO, entertainment law and real estate fraud actions.
Recently, John achieved a total defense verdict in a $20 million+ unfair competition and quantum meruit lawsuit brought against Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, which was affirmed on appeal in Long Beach Memorial Medical Center v. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, 71 Cal. App. 5th 323 (2021). He also has achieved total defense verdicts in several other matters, including a health care subscriber’s $8 million insurance bad-faith lawsuit, an employee’s $9.1 million fraud and breach-of-contract claim, and a $1.2 million breach-of-contract trial brought against a school district.
When representing plaintiffs, John has obtained over $47 million in total compensation for his clients.
Recognized by Los Angeles magazine as one of the top young lawyers in Southern California, John is also a respected authority in ERISA litigation and an author of BNA’s Managed Care Litigation treatise, published annually.
