Manatt Health Partner Julian Polaris was quoted in InsideHealthPolicy about the implications of state attorneys general joining the Texas-based challenge to the Food and Drug Administration’s policies on mifepristone and medication abortion.
In the article, Polaris said that this intervention seemed solely for the purpose of keeping the case alive and before the Northern Texas District court judge, Matthew Kacsmaryk, should the Supreme Court rule that the plaintiffs lack standing. “Because Judge Kacsmaryk has already shown himself to be amenable to the legal arguments they want to press ... it seems like [they] wanted to hedge against a Supreme Court decision that found a lack of standing for the original private plaintiffs,” Polaris stated.
