A Manatt team led by Corporate and Finance Partners Scott Schwartz and Aydin Caginalp and Entertainment Partner Monika Tashman represented international music powerhouse BMG Rights Management in its acquisition of Mötley Crüe’s entire recorded music catalog, including nine studio albums and several platinum-selling live albums and compilation sets. This transaction makes it the largest single-catalog acquisition BMG has made since its formation.
Mötley Crüe released its first album, Too Fast for Love, in 1981 and has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, with seven platinum and multiplatinum albums, nine top 10 albums, and multiple Grammy nominations.
Manatt drew from its extensive experience across multiple practice areas with Partner Eric Custer, Counsels Monte Lemann and Matt Reece, and Associate Bernard Mantel also advising BMG.
