Modern Healthcare interviewed Manatt's Stephanie Anthony, a director with Manatt Health, for an article on the federal government's extension of a large-scale test managing the benefits and care for low-income and disabled Americans. Twelve states have rolled out three-year demonstrations under the Affordable Care Act to better align the health benefits provided to Americans who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid, and most of the states have expressed interest in extending their programs for two years beyond the scheduled end dates.
Industry insiders told the publication that patients enrolled in the program are pleased with the care they're getting. "I have not heard anyone in any form criticize this care model," said Anthony, who advised the state of Massachusetts when it was forming its demo.
