Ahimsa Govender is a manager with Manatt Health, an interdisciplinary policy and business advisory practice of Manatt, in the firm’s San Francisco office. She has several years of health policy experience focused on biomedical innovation and Medicaid issues.
Prior to joining Manatt, Ahimsa was a senior policy analyst and Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, she developed multiple president’s budgets and worked with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the White House Office of Management and Budget on Medicaid budget and policy-related issues focused on behavioral health, drug pricing, equity, CMS Innovation Center Medicaid models, maternal health, and dually eligible individuals.
Ahimsa also has experience streamlining operational efficiency for large hospital systems. Additionally, she provided research and analysis while working at the Brookings Institution on topics related to medical device innovation, antibacterial drug development and economic incentives to spur drug development.
