Editors selected honorees from a pool of more than 300 applicants, and selections were based on major successes in leadership, law and the community. In its published profile of Lawson, The Recorder identifies her deep land use expertise and her community involvement as some of her key accomplishments.
As highlighted in her profile, Lawson has worked with major developers and nonprofits on land use issues, and she currently sits on several transportation agencies. She is considered an expert on the California Environmental Quality Act, and has used her understanding of the ins and outs of environmental and land use law to help clients secure government permits and approvals for major residential, commercial, and mixed-used projects throughout California. When she’s not advising clients, she serves as an elected member of the Walnut Creek City Council, as well as on the board of the Transportation Partnership and Cooperation of Central Contra Costa.
A luncheon will be hosted for the honorees in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 5, with a keynote delivered by U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal.
In February 2012, Lawson was also named one of San Francisco Business Times’ “40 Under 40” leading professionals.
