Sabrina Conyers is an associate in the Business, Finance and Tax division in the New York office. Ms. Conyers’ practice focuses on corporate transactions with an emphasis on New Markets Tax Credit financing transactions. She represents investors, lenders, borrowers and community development entities in transactions that utilize federal tax credits as an investment feature. In the nonprofit sector, Ms. Conyers assists clients with the formation of nonprofit corporations and in securing exemption from federal income taxation. She also provides general corporate counseling to nonprofit organizations, advising them on a broad range of operating issues, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structuring subsidiaries, grants management and other programming issues.
Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Conyers was an associate at the New York office of an international law firm, where she focused on tax credit financings and syndications. She regularly advised clients in the real estate industry on the economic and tax implications of their partnerships and joint ventures as well as on the domestic and international tax implications associated with mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, financings, restructurings and other strategic transactions. Ms. Conyers also assisted clients in settling the federal and state tax issues that arose in federal and state audits, examinations and administrative appeals.
