    Profile

    Joshua Taylor has a diverse real estate and real estate finance practice, which includes representing institutional lenders, investment managers and developers in a variety of matters involving real property and other secured and unsecured assets.

    He focuses his practice on negotiating and documenting acquisitions, dispositions and financing transactions, including acquisition of distressed debt, commercial mortgage loan securitizations, construction and development financing, leasing, real estate development transactions and joint venture transactions.

    His financing experience includes negotiating and documenting complex secured real estate loan transactions that include office, retail, industrial, multifamily and residential master planned communities and office buildings. He also has experience with tax exempt bond financing transactions involving real estate and other assets. Mr. Taylor also has experience working as a consultant in the Financial Institutions and Tax practice of Deloitte & Touche.

    Representative transaction include:

    • Representation of a national bank in connection with mortgage loans secured by commercial, retail and industrial properties located in California, Utah, Washington and Nevada.
    • Representation of an institutional lender in connection with construction and permanent mortgage loans secured by commercial, retail and industrial properties located throughout the United States.
    • Advice and representation of real estate opportunity fund in connection with the acquisition, due diligence, financing and management of multiple real estate properties located in California, including the acquisition and foreclosure of distressed debt and distressed condominium projects.
    • Representation of an institutional lender, as bondholder, in connection with mortgage bond transactions relating to the development of multifamily affordable housing projects throughout the United States.
    • Advice and representation of a private real estate developer in the financing of nearly $1 billion of commercial office properties located throughout California.
    • Representation of an institutional lender in connection with the disposition of a portfolio of distressed real estate assets located throughout California.
    • Representation of institutional lender with workouts, modifications and dispositions of distressed and REO assets located throughout California.
    • Advice and representation of a private real estate developer in the financing and refinancing of multiple loans in connection with the acquisition and development of a mixed-use retail, office and residential development project in San Jose, California.
